Hold On by SUMMER HEART
Haunted Ghost’s Chanson du Jour :: some are hard edition
Summer Heart :: Hold On
Summer Heart is the moniker of solo outfit David Alexander who is from Malmö. His music truly is perfect for the summer time, for blissing out under a tree in the shade with a cold beer, good friends, and a sunset. He could very easily be lumped into the whole “chillwave” genre, but here there is a more gripping and desperately romantic edge to it. His high vocals and soothingly relaxed guitar lines catch and drift and soar. Summer Heart did a remix for Philly based mellow rockers Work Drugs, which is of great quality and brings a new edge of colorful lucidity to their sound.
Summer Heart has a lot of good stuff on his bandcamp, so get it here!
and dont take things too seriously…

Third Wave by Work Drugs

As the chill-wave phenomenon has shifted into an every man’s game, it has become increasingly difficult to find a band within the sub-genre who really stands out and holds their own. Philadelphia, PA based duo Work Drugs do just that, having put out two sublime self-proclaimed “sedative-wave/smooth-fi” songs that are as infectious as they are blisteringly sunny. Recorded to a four-track cassette, the songs have a rough, lo-fi quality while keeping the rich, lush textures so commonplace in the chill-wave realm. Beautiful music that I just can’t turn off. Download the two tracks and get into it, you won’t want to go to rehab.
