Disclosure - Just Your Type

this brotherly duo, 19 and 16 years old, stole my heart with their first 7” on Moshi Moshi - especially the b-sdie Street Light Chronicle. Now, hot on the heels of their Carnival b/w I Love…That You Know 7” on Transparent, the two have put out this total heat track. DJs everywhere should be spinning this for a while.

Drip-Hop: Becoming Real featuring Trim

Becoming Real :: Spectre EP (featuring MC Trim)

Like Me (feat. Trim) by Becoming Real

Today I was going to do a post on hip-hop, planning to talk about N.E.R.D.’s new totally stoned out, awesome, half R&B, half rap album Nothing. Then I heard Becoming Real’s latest release - ‘Spectre’ EP - featuring MC Trim and, after picking my jaw off the floor, decided to post on that instead. Becoming Real (alias of awesome collage artist Toby Ridler) is a UK synth/electro/noise musician who has been putting out super super limited 12”s over the past year. For his newest release, out November 15th on Moshi Moshi Records’ new sub-label Not Even, he’s teamed up with Trim, one of the grimiest and realest MCs working now, UK or otherwise. Though Trim is more or less an enigma and almost impossible to track down any info on. He slays. So, check out these two songs, bob your head or wave your hand or roll that blunt or whatever you want to do.
