So I have been in love with Active Child since magically stumbling upon his She Was A Vision 7” released through Transparent Records over a year ago. Then the Merok release of his Curtis Lane EP blew me away. But his new full length album You Are All I See has quickly become my favorite album of the year. Soaring electronics, trickling harps, emotional croons - all the elements of Active Child’s style are here but they have grown and matured to this genre bending explosion of power, disparity, love, and bliss. This should make its way on to all Top 10 lists for 2011. Jaw-dropping. Much love to Hypem for the album stream.

A week away from having the official release on Young Turks, the ever talented, soul funk electro producer SBTRKT has his entire new self-titled album can be found streaming below via Hypem. It is a real dance floor burner, with some nice influences of disco, soul, r&b, and mellow psych. Splashes of lounge, dubstep, and even hints of jungle occur throughout the album. A fun, fresh work from a producer of ever growing talent and popularity. I feel like this one will end up on a lot of Top 25 lists this year, so definitely give it a proper listen. My stand out tracks are Heatwave, Hold On, Something Goes Right, and the almost operatic closer Go Bang. Heavy deeds indeed.
